Our university,
Kyushu University
is now planning to
construct a
university museum.
The purpose of
the University Museum is
to send out what
the past,
the present and
the future
of the researches
in Kyushu University
are like,
because we think that this is
our own responsibility
to our society.
In advance of the opening of the museum,we have begun pre-exhibitions
since the last year.
As part of them, we held the exhibition
"Eruption of Unzen Volcano
and its Background"(*)
at the Prefecture Hall,
ACROSS-FUKUOKA
in June, this year.
This was a trial to display
a part of the achievements of
Faculty of Science and
Shimabara Earthquake
and Volcano Observatory,
Kyushu University.
Fortunately it was
very successful.
Many people came to it
and appreciated it very much.
Listening to the suggestions
given by these people,
we here open
this Internet Museum
by putting the whole
data of the exhibition
on WWW pages.
We hope you to enjoy this
museum and to give us your
suggestions and criticisms.
