According to the
Plate Tectonics,
the Philippine Sea Plate
is sliding down
under Kyushu Island
from the southeast direction.
We can look at this
in the distribution of hypocenters
of earthquakes.

The Philippine Sea Plate seen from the distribution of earthquakes |

On Page 4 in Part 4 (4-4),
the distribution of hypocenters
of earthquakes in the Kyushu area
and the
cross section
in the direction of sliding of the
Philippine Sea Plate
are shown.
These figures clearly show
the feature how the plate
is creeping under Kyushu Island.
We made a model
in which we drew (painted)
these hypocenters
on many transparent
and thick acrylic acid resin
plates by spots,
stacked up these plates
and lighted them from the back side.
We could view a surprisingly vivid feature of sl iding down
of the Philippine Sea Plate.
(See the stereo photo below.)

(Take a little time.
Don't hurry.)
You may look
at the Philippine Sea Plate
sliding down under
Kyushu Island from its east seashore.
